Well, this is it - the core problem here is that the events of the last few years have squeezed the toothpaste out of the tube and what we’re seeing now is the total failure of every effort to pack it back in. That’s what the exasperation with All Politics is.
The Conservative Party have shat the bed so thoroughly that it can never be unshat. No matter what happens, and regardless of how determined politicians and public figures are to make it happen, we can’t go back to 2012, ever.
Since that’s absolutely clear, we should now start asking ourselves whether our current trajectory - that is, grasping infinitely at any feeble ruse that might make things a bit more 2012-y, while the Tory government visibly decays in office - is the best we can do.
