1.2amps is what I can draw from the Raspberry Pi USB port before things start to break
I mention this because I’m attaching a USB SATA SSD and want to know how much power the SSD is allowed to draw
Doing disk intensive IO using 'iozone' and 'fio' test tools, the maximum the USB SATA SSD draws is 0.15amps, or 0.76watts. Other USB SATA connectors come with additional power cables, but it appears this Kingston A400 SSD powers just fine by itself from the RPi USB port.
The white hub you see in the background is a Anker multiport charging station, not a hub, and can deliver 3-amps out each port. It also does wire length compensation, boosting past 5.5-volts to compensate for voltage loss on 10foot cables.
So anyway, the 120gigabyte SSD in the picture costs $20, and the USB SATA connector costs $11. Faster and more reliable than using the micro SD.

Yes, there are many hyperpartisan people that adapt principles to fit their politics. You know that any defense of "free speech" by Fox News or Breitbart isn't based on principle.

But that doesn't mean principled people aren't sincere. Reason et al. are principled.
You can quickly find examples of those sites defending the free speech of liberals who offend conservatives.

I mention this because whenever I defend free-speech, I inevitably get accused of only doing so because I'm secretly partisan instead of principled. I find this aggravating.

1/ If you care about IoT security, the thing you should be promoting isn't "no default passwords", but "randomized IPv6 addresses". I mention this because this is my current IPv6 configuration at this bar I'm at. One of the addresses is predictable.
2/ Typical IPv6 will give a device three addresses. It grabs the prefix (2603:3001:2d00:da00:: in my case) and creates a "static" address, a "temporary" address, and asks the router for a DHCPv6 assignment.
3/ The "temporary address" is used as the default address for creating outbound connection, and changes every few minutes. Even as I write these tweets, it's changed.

In regards to that "college entrance cheating scandal", I want to point out that the vast majority of elite members of our community either didn't get into an elite school or didn't go college all. (I went to the state school)
A lot of our 'liteness comes from thinking outside the box. It's the same lack of conformity that makes it difficult to attend an elite school that makes us visionaries.
We are in a new field that requires self-starters who can study and learn on their own. That's not a skill you learned in conforming to requirements to get into an elite school: yes it's hard work, but directed by others instead of being able to decide for yourself.

Finally getting back around to this thread (it's been a busy week). Given the damage caused by the divine-love-sends-people-to-hell theology that McClymond promotes, I think it's a moral responsibility to criticize pieces like this.
Let's begin at the top with what I can only assume is an editorial mistake, where McClymond says that universalism is the doctrine that people will "spend an eternity with heaven in God," as opposed to "in heaven with God." Not an auspicious start.
But I can't help but point out how already McClymond already assumes that eternal salvation = "going to heaven." So much bad theology, crude mythology, and poor exegesis wrapped up in such a notion. But we don't have time to dwell on all that here.
