/ Because it's me, and I'm a jerk, I'd like to point out that these 737 MAX problems were caused by people's obsession with manmade Climate Change.
/ Boeing wanted to design an all new replacement for the 737, but that takes longer. People demanded Boeing do a quicker interim improvement in order to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
/ So the solution was to simply put a more efficient jet engine on the existing plane. But such engines are larger, with bigger fans. This is too large to fit under the wing.
/ So the engine has to be mounted higher up, more in front of the wing instead of of below it. This changes the handling of the plane, causing it to pitch up more.
/ This leads to stalls, which is historically the biggest problem. So they added an automated system that compensated by automatically pitching the nose down in such situations.
/ Such a system wouldn't have been needed if the plane could be completely redesigned to accommodate the larger engine.
/ Anyway, this automated system seems implicated in the previous crash, and people are assuming it's at fault in the second crash as well.

QED: trying to solve global warming is dangerous :-)
/ (This thread is obviously iconoclastic humor, don't take it seriously)
