“Robert Francis” is a great Trumpian nickname for Beto O’rourke. I was trying to come up with one yesterday, but couldn’t think of anything “sticky” as @ScottAdamsSays might have recommended.
With Beto, Trump seems to have decided that it’s actually better to DE-NICKNAME him. “Beto” makes him seem hip. “Robert Francis” makes him seem like a privileged white guy - anathema to the modern left.

Robert Francis is the guy who tips 10% to the country club waiter.
I predict that Trump will refer to Beto as Robert Francis whenever possible.

Provided the final conclusion is a clear bill of health from Mueller, this changes the tide drastically.

Right now, fools are babbling about how there are further investigations and SDNY prosecutions coming.

Trump prepped for this by talking about “Presidential Harassment”
Further investigation now looks SO BAD for the left. They will likely drop this and it’ll fade into the background.
If they follow through with it, Trump will win in an landslide in 2020.

One thing I think folks are missing in the 2020 conversation right now is what forces are shaping the primary. I am an activist, I am interested in moving candidates around a specific agenda. There is a reason diversity + inclusion are the entry point for this. (1/?)

Candidates want to co-opt the language and tactics of movement because that is where the wins have been for the last several years. The hottest issues, the hottest candidates, the most grassroots energy exist in movement on the Left, not in the Party apparatus itself.

Why is Beto O’Rourke the Chosen one? Go back to the GOOGLE execs complaining after the 2016 elections that too many Latino voters voted for Trump. And GOOGLE paid for Get out the vote ops in the Latino communities.
I bet many Latino voters lied to the exit pollsters too and even more Latinos voted for Trump than they knew. I guess the election fraud was not enough. Also look at the Black vote and the Union vote that went to Trump. Stunning.

Beto doesn't necessary put Texas in play. Look closer at who made it close vs. Ted Cruz. Those are swingy whites. it was close B/C it was a good election for Democrats in the House, BC he spent millions on platitudes w.o vetting, and it was a Senate race. And guess what? He lost.
Beto only had a good launch day in the minds of white liberal journalists. Think Progress & others said he didn't bring much to the field. Pelosi struggled to cite a single accomplishment before mentioning his support for the environment (not a bill), Green groups disagreed.
