Diagnosed with PTSD and severe depression in my mid-20s. Extensive medical treatment. A very long journey. In no particular order, common offerings from well-meaning people:

-- Have you tried thinking positively?
-- Everyone is sad sometimes.
-- Exercise!

#AbledsAreWeird
The lack of knowledge about mental health disabilities is especially frustrating because you can tell so many people really do want to be helpful as long as it means not putting any more effort into said help beyond describing things that help them relax. Incredibly frustrating.
And it's not that things like yoga, exercise, a good diet, sleep hygiene, etc. can't be helpful to negotiate symptoms. It's when these things are presented to us 1) as though it's the first time we're hearing them and 2) as substitutes for therapy and meds that it's frustrating.
