@vinamrapandiya @uni_con1 @paulg In my experience as an investor, there is no difference between the educational elite and others in intelligence, business judgment, risk-taking, tenacity and ambition. However, the areas where educational attainment gives founders an edge are all social. 3/n
@vinamrapandiya @uni_con1 @paulg The breadth and depth of the network, and attractiveness to potential hires. In a perfect world, these things won't matter, but in the India of 2019 they do. You will see most investors, including us, being overweight on educational attainment.
@vinamrapandiya @uni_con1 @paulg I am hopeful that, over the next decade, opportunity becomes even more widely distributed and we rid ourselves of educational biases the way we have social biases. In 10 years we should no more care about your school than we do today about the "sort of family you're from". n/n
