In November, we FOIA'd DOJ for all of the versions of financial disclosure forms that then-acting AG Matthew Whitaker submitted. I got a response today: DOJ is withholding 14 draft reports (7 for the annual report, and 7 for the new entrant report) assets.documentcloud.org/documents/5776…
You may recall that the final versions of Whitaker's 2018 financial disclosures that were made public indicated that revisions had been made on five occasions, see:
DOJ is withholding the drafts under two exemptions under FOIA: One for internal agency comms protected by the deliberative process privilege, and one for invasion of personal privacy
We're already in court over how DOJ has handled responding to this FOIA request (we filed suit after they missed the statutory deadline to respond), so stay tuned
