Wagner Act empowered unions that excluded Blacks better wages & working conditions

FHA gave whites home loans...

Jim Crow reserved the best jobs, schools, neighborhoods and hospitals for white people.

The US government consistently gave wypipo handouts to get ahead.

Wypipo should shut the hell up about handouts.

White privilege doesn't mean..

You won't get pulled over by police. You won't get pulled over BECAUSE YOU'RE WHITE.

You won't get denied jobs & opportunities. You won't get denied BECAUSE YOU'RE WHITE.

You won't have struggles. You won't struggle BECAUSE YOU'RE WHITE.

Got it?
White privilege means....

The challenges, tragedies, and difficulties you face in life will have nothing to do with being white.

The benefits, privileges, and opportunities you receive will often have everything to do with being white.

Get it?
White privilege speaks to the inherent advantages wypipo have based on their non melanated status in a society built on racial inequality and injustice against non white people.

Just because you think you don't have privilege doesn't erase the fact that you do.

Stop going to Black churches telling them how much you hate racism....

.... Go to white churches and tell them.

Stop pushing a prosperity gospel and allowing white politicians who care nothing for Black communities to come into our churches...

... embrace a gospel of liberation and social justice, work on behalf of our communities, and hold politicians accountable.

Stop pretending you had no culpability in the past & present dehumanization of Black people. Own it...

...Stop denying social justice as a biblical mandate & voting for those who uphold white supremacy, privilege, & patriarchy.

1) More and more I am seeing people in the US talk about doing a Land Acknowledgement at their meeting, conference, or event.
2) If you're wondering what a Land Acknowledgement is, it is opening remarks that say the land that the event is on is (or was) the homeland of a specific Native Nation. It is meant to create awareness.
3) At first glance, cool, right? Progressive-minded, right?

They have a lot of appeal, for sure. But... that is where they can go wrong.

I saw George Takei speak last night about his life and career.
A life that has seen Japanese internment camps, the violence that accompanied the civil rights era, the struggle for LGBT recognition and basic dignities.
And a career that saw him offered roles as humiliating stereotypes and having to keep his most important relationships a secret to protect it.

On this day in 1830, Andrew Jackson singed the Indian Removal Act, which forced 46,000 Native Americans from their ancestral land, pushing them into concentration camps & forcing them to undertake a 1000 mile death march or “trail of tears”, which killed over 4,000 ppl.
Whites coveted valuable Native lands in the South for use as slave plantations. As a result, the US gov forced Native tribes off their land & marched them to an “Indian colonization zone” in Oklahoma, those who refused faced terror, theft, & murder by white settlers.
In 1831, under threat of invasion by the US Army, the Choctaw were the 1st nation expelled. They were marched “bound in chains & double file”, without any food, supplies or other help from the gov. Thousands died along the way; many are buried in unmarked graves along the trail.

People were joking that Trump was going to disparage Warren as "Pocahontas" at an event honouring Native veterans. Trump...just...did it.
Trump is holding this event honouring Native American code talkers, and insulting Warren as "Pocahontas," in front of a portrait of president Andrew Jackson, who signed the Indian Removal Act.
