Some constituencies now have had over 35% of the eligible electorate sign the "revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU" petition. If they have even half a brain, there will be some MPs in marginal seats feeling very worried this morning!

Especially because the % is of the total electorate, not of those who voted in the last GE. So the figures in some constituencies are bumping up against the 50% mark, if you go only by people who voted in GE2017.
Here's an intriguing one: Islington North (Jeremy Corbyn's constituency)
24,600 people signed the petition
In GE2017, 54,515 people voted
So that means 45% as many people have signed to revoke A50 as voted in GE2017. If they all voted LibDeb next time, Corbyn would be out.

This is hilarious. Michael Gove "liked" an article about ways to get rid of the Prime Minister. Having been found out, he oh so quietly unliked it again. Because that won't draw attention to what he's doing. Of course not. 😳

Bill Cash was banging on on Sky News about how the UK's still leaving the EU on 29 March. Kept saying "that's the legal position". He's right, at the moment. In domestic law that's still the case.
But the fact he repeated it so much makes me wonder whether the ERG will try and sabotage the SI needed to change the date in domestic law?
For instance (and I am not completely familiar with the dirty tricks they use) could they talk out ie filibuster the SI so that the vote never happens?

Bare with me, I’m gonna talk about my local for a long minute. Probably because I’m trying to write whilst not being able to. But I’m pretty focused on the beauty of so many misfits coming together:
The first time I cried in there, two years ago, the barmaid wrote “We love you” on a coaster and slid it across the bar to me. I hadn’t really spoken to anyone in there at that point. But I guess she recognised my face. I still have that coaster, mounted on my fridge, in fact.
I was still new to the neighbourhood when one of the barmen took my credit card, saw my name, and said “You Turkish?” I froze. Honestly kinda panicked. Then he said his name—Turkish first and last. “There aren’t many of us in Bed Stuy,” he told me.

This #archaeology thread describes the “Agora Bone Well” published today by Maria Liston, Susan Rotroff & Lynn Snyder

Over 460 humans (mostly infants) & 150 dogs were thrown in the well. They tell a heartbreakingly vivid tale of all-too-ordinary life & death in ancient Athens

The well was excavated 80 yrs ago by Dorothy Burr Thompson and was located downtown in Hellenistic Athens. After the building on this plot of land was abandoned, the well became a convenient dumping spot

The bones & artifacts were thrown in the well between 175-150 BC

The well was cut thru bedrock & lined w/ clay tiles. Thompson wrote that bones first started appearing 13 meters down (42 feet). Skulls & bones became so common that at one point she simply wrote “more vile bones of dogs, etc.” Digging bones in a deep well wasn’t an easy job!

I ever tell y'all about the time me, Jason of @GradedPointFive, helped @MulattoWitCheeZ protect his weed dispensary from a host of boomers who were angry about the new ID policies?
So we just pulled into Detroit with most of a bushel of the King of Bud.
Which was good, because Jason was starting to weird me out a little.
After taking a few puffs, he kept mumbling, "I am nearly one with the yee force. Mike, you don't understand, I am nearly one with yee."
Still, we needed travelling money, & if the few puffs that Jason was taking caused him to enter another state of existence were indicative, this weed was worth a lot of money.

So after we got off the bus, we took a taxi to go find where Mulatto worked. An inner city weed shop.

There's been a lot of malaise and defeatism amongst good folks out there, and the soldier in me refuses to accept that.

Morale is KEY to winning.

I've been helping that out, here and there on threads, but people keep asking me how I can be so positive.

Let me say first, emotionally this has NOT been easy for me, nor any of you out there. The pain of this administration is real for SO many, and each has their own reason. After the election I hid from people for days.

But then I got motivated again.
2/
For my kids, for your kids, for our great experiment of self governance. I refused to believe that despotism will take our great nation.

I STILL refuse, as I know all good people do.

So I've done what I do best: talk.

Here and in the world, to EVERYONE.

1. More astute observes will have noticed a subtle but significant shift in Tory rhetoric on WTO option #Brexit
2. At one time they talked about it like it was entirely sufficient until the various flaws were pointed out.
3. Then they started talking about "WTO Plus" - which was a twist of logic because WTO plus other agreements is not the WTO option.
