1/ So I just learned a god-damned GREAT Tallahassee story, so y'all are going to have to just let this ride for a couple tweets.

2/ If you're from around here, you've heard of Prince Murat. The family had this incredibly colorful backstory of love/hate/love w Napoleon but that's not today's lesson. After Napoleon's exile Prince Murat came to America.

3/ Skipping a zillion other colorful notes, Murat was accused of having a slave on his plantation steal a pig from neighboring Macomb plantation. Now, he'd already accused Macomb of being a traitor over Henry Clay, which meant this became a matter of honor.
4/ The two men met on the shores of Lake Iamonia (quite near here). Macomb shot off most of Murat's little finger.
