3. Birdkeeps: tend to large aviaries, train carrier birds for communication with other cities and surface towns. Parley with wild birds for safe passage in avian domains.
4. Tetherlings: workers who maintain the underside of the city. Attach long tethers to themselves while climbing about. Often have side hustles in underside black market.
5.Undersiders: Outcasts from the upcity proper. Often provide services the Topsiders consider unsavory but patronize all the same.
6. Albatross Knights: warriors who protect the city on giant bird steeds. A dangerous but prestigious occupation.
7. Powder Cooks: Alchemists who create fireworks for entertainment and combat. Large-scale rockets are often used in wars against other air ship cities.
8. Cloud Farmers: maintain large arrays of nets for collecting moisture from clouds. The main water source for the city.
9. Catchers: stationed at ballistas along the underside shooting nets attached to long bungee ropes at people and objects that fall from the city. Falling objects could strain relations with ground cities.
10. Bubblers: artists who create elaborate soap bubble sculptures that float through the city. Anyone of importance or wealth has skilled bubbler on retainer.
11. Cord Merchant: travels below the city on the ground trading with ground towns. Drives wagon connected to city by massive cord. Is hauled back up with ground goods once business is complete or connected travel becomes impossible.
12. Glider Guard: soldiers who patrol the city on hang gliders. They double as firefighters and always carry alchemical fire extinguishers.
