Not surprising. Not because atheism itself is inherently fascist--quite the opposite--but because Movement Atheism is overwhelmingly angry white men and any group that's overwhelmingly white men seems to be Nazi-ing up fast these days. vice.com/en_us/article/…
Like, there's a fairly simple first step in keeping your movement from becoming white supremacist and that's listening to the women and people of color in it. 
Whatever your mission is, if you're silent on bigotry within it because you'll accept ANY support, well, I return to the whole, "what do you have when 11 people sit down to dinner with a Nazi? 12 Nazis" thing. You gotta call this shit out and reject it, or you're advancing it.
