This should be clear, before this goes any further:if your health plan does not guarantee coverage without premium penalty for, or exclusion of a preexisting condition, it is not covering preexisting conditions as well as the current ACA. Saying it, don’t make it so. #healthcare
In another life, before I was a novelist,I was a health insurance broker. I filed claims for clients, read policies, and dealt with insurance underwriters all day. The ACA needs work,at LEAST a public option (Medicare buy in?), but nothing the GOP has proposed to date is as good.
I’m not addressing single-payer right now, I’m addressing the myth that somehow we’d have great healthcare if John McCain hadn’t voted down Obamacare repeal. That was the last great act of a patriot — for the people. Scapegoating him for your own failure is the act of a coward.
