Look I get that some people prefer ‘Autistic Spectrum Condition’ to ‘Autism Spectrum Disorder’, but if that’s really the most important thing you have to worry about or argue over you are absolutely NOT involved with or supporting the Autistic community...
...We have kids without a suitable school, kids being excluded from education for being autistic, people unable to get a diagnosis, CAMHS services so stretched children are severely self harming without support, kids unable to get an education health care plan to support them...
...autistic people locked away in padded cells for years on end and no privacy or dignity and fed through hatches in the door, adults being declined PIP and ESA as unqualified idiots at DWP wrongly assess their needs, we have autistic adults so short of money they see suicide...
...as a positive, we have diminished services, little to no social care, drastic funding cuts, project ya and groups shut down, funding for small orgs helping people on spectrum snatched away, we literally have so many problems that need people to fight for them....
...but no, you worry about if it should be a letter ‘c’ rather than a ‘d’ in the acronym.
And of course I get that to some autistic people this is a big deal. But to others so is staying alive, or getting out of what is basically prison you are in ‘just because you’re autistic’.
