This @page88 tweet and @ChuckGrassley calling for Mueller report release had me thinking of an old story about Darwinian evolution and sudden environmental change...
Volcanoes and butterflies. (I hope this story isn't apocryphal.)
1/
2/ So there's a Pacific island, full of butterflies.
And the butterflies are beautiful, in every color of the rainbow.
But then the island volcano erupts and turns the island black...
3/ With the environment changed to black, predators can start to see all the colorful butterflies very easily. Most get eaten.

The island's surviving butterflies: black and gray mutants.
4/ At the risk of being naive & grossly premature:
GOP have evolved in one environment to be Trumpian butterflies.
But Mueller Report plus SDNY & NY state could be like the proverbial volcano.
And Grassley could be turning into a surviving mutant...?
Nah.
