This is the weakest language I have seen in a joint statement. Five levels of ambiguity. Intensify, discussion, with aim, strengthening, building
And I can tell you that by strengthening international rules on industrial subsidies China does not mean that subsidies should be stopped. It means that subsidies should be subject to strict laws and regulations on their approval and application
There is similar language in Chinese official documents. Chinese authorities certainly do not support arbitrary decisions in relation to industrial subsidies and do not approve them at home

I am a bit surprises to see so many intelligent people saying that Assange should be punished for stealing US national secrets. In a free society we need better typified offenses, not a general danger to national security
Did he penetrate a restricted system or location? Did he transmit restricted information to a foreign state? Did he falsify documents?
“Endangered national security” is the moniker of an authoritarian society
