Sudan and the diaspora wait with bated breath, after the army say that they will be making an announcement on the radio shortly.

After a day of euphoria and two consecutive nights with no confrontation with regime forces, could this be the moment that Sudan's protesters and exiled diaspora have been waiting for?
A protester at the sit-in tells me now that, no matter the statement:

"We won't be leaving the sit-in until those who have been detained are released and there is justice for those killed."
Reports of mass arrests of senior regime officials and that the airport is currently closed.

Still waiting on that statement...
On-ground expert source in Khartoum: thousands are heading towards the sit-in site, where people are already celebrating.

He suspects that this is an internal coup by the islamists - engineered by the army, in collaboration with spy chief Gosh & RSF/Janjaweed leader Hemidti.
Things are far from over if this is the case. Gosh and Hemidti's forces have been the main perpetrators of lethal violence against protesters since the revolution began in late December.
LATEST from a 2nd insider: there is currently a meeting underway at the Military Command HQ between spy chief Gosh, RSF/Janjaweed leader Hemidti, Defence minister & current VP Awad Ibn Auf & head of the police, discussing who will lead transitional High Council of Armed Forces.
This political insider says that Sudanese Army's Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Kamal Abdel-Marouf is their top choice to head the transitional council.
Just received this text from a protester at the sit-in:

"There's no internet connection by the military HQ, a sniper just killed someone and there are millions here with no water. Send out an emergency call, there are people injured here without any water."
