Just wondering: We now have technology that can 3-D print entire houses & glorious works of art.If several companies exactly replicated the damaged portions of #NotreDame using this process,she might be restored much sooner w/ more resistant materials & no change in appearance.
It might also prove less expensive than trying to locate the wood materials needed...and perhaps more money could then go to the restoration of the statues and the stonework.
My intent in suggesting this is not to disrepect the valuable work and amazing efforts of the craftsman who have come before, but as many of the specific wooden pieces may not be easily replaced, this might be a feasible work-around that problem.
