A lot of elected Democrats seem concerned with how an impeachment inquiry would play politically.

I don't get it. Isn't the point of getting elected to do the right thing once you get there?

Who cares how it plays politically? This is much bigger than that.
Why a detailed examination of Trump's obstruction of justice, which Mueller just outlined in detail, would be damaging to Democrats politically is not something I understand either. But I also don't care. Just do the right thing.
Something I think that is politically damaging is when someone asks whether you believe the president committed an impeachable offense and your answer is it depends on how it might play in the next election.
