/ Now that I have taken a closer look at the Mueller report, I want to share some observations that others may have overlooked. The first thing that jumped out at me is that the report reads a lot like the “speaking indictments” we have already seen.
/ Mueller is giving us granular details — much more information than is necessary. So we have to ask ourselves why.
/ Mueller drops hints all over the place that team Trump really did collude with the Russians, and did so wittingly. Everyone who was involved lied about their activities, and they continue to lie.
/ That fact that there was insufficient evidence to charge them should not reassure us. On the contrary, it means that the criminal network is too entrenched for the justice system to take down quickly.
/ On p. 10 of vol. 1, we are given reasons why subjects could not be charged.
/ One of the key phrases in the report is “I do not recall.” This is the go-to response, and the fact that so many people said this lets us know that there is coordination.
/ There is a pattern that can be observed in Russian contacts with the Trump campaign, and the dates are important. In the spring and early summer of 2016, Russia was reaching out on multiple fronts—through Papadapoulos, Page, Cohen, Trump Jr., Kushner, Manfort, Sessions, etc.
/ The Russians expressed interest in working with Trump, and they wanted Trump to come to Russia for a meeting with important people, including Putin. Trump campaign members were initially receptive and started making plans.
/ Toward the middle of the summer, however, the communication went off the radar. Outwardly, it looks as if the relationship fizzled out. But Mueller hints that everyone made the deliberate choice to take things underground.
/ This pattern was accurately described by @john_sipher, @AshaRangappa_, and @alexzfinley in this article: justsecurity.org/49682/collusio…
/ Everything was building up to a big meeting that was supposed to take place in Russia. In this meeting, they would finalize the quid pro quo arrangement. Initially, Trump himself was planning to go, but they decided that would be too risky.
/ Here is an intriguing detail. In preparations for Cohen and Trump to travel to Russia, scanned copies of their passports were requested. Later, the Russians requested passport photos. Why were these needed?
/ What's the deal with the mysterious Prague meeting? Did it happen or not?
/ Notice that the above statement occurs in the section titled "Cohen Submits False Statements to Congress..."
/ Even though Cohen flipped, something about his testimony seems off to me. The pattern that we see with Flynn, Papadapoulos, and Manafort is that they lie even after they are caught. They only acknowledge what investigators have called them out on.
/ Mueller's team has been able to pin some of them on false statements, but many of their lies cannot be verified.
/ @McClatchyDC stands by its reporting that Cohen's phone was detected near Prague in late summer 2016.
/ Here's another interesting detail. Sergei Millian, writing to Papadapoulos, mentioned a "disruptive technology that might be instrumental in your political work for the campaign." What could that be, and why is Cambridge Analytica not mentioned in the report?
/ By including a footnote about compromising tapes, Mueller is telling us that the Steele dossier should be taken seriously.
/ Bottom line - Mueller is trying to tell us that even though the evidence is insufficient for criminal prosecution (at least at the present), Trump is totally guilty. There is a pervasive pattern of deception and mobster behavior.
/ Mueller made it clear the Trump did obstruct, and the only reason he has not been indicted is because of Justice Dept. policies. It falls to Congress to impeach. Trump is compromised, and he is a national security threat.
/ Investigations are ongoing, and great effort is being made to shield them. It would not surprise me if Barr and Rosenstein are acting in a way that makes them seem like Trump loyalists so as to placate the criminals.
/ Trump still has the nuclear codes. He is like a toddler with a gun in his hands. The danger is made worse when he feels threatened, so it's important for everyone to stay calm and try to see things clearly. /end
