How to Vote in the European Elections

- SNP
- Plaid Cymru

LEAVE
- Tories

LEAVE, WITH MORE BUSES

LEAVE, WITH NO PLAN AT ALL

DON'T CARE ABOUT BREXIT
- Stay at home, don't vote
Note: there are other smaller parties, and independents, but the above are the parties I believe are most likely to have a chance of picking up MEPs. By all means peruse the whole list, and make up your mind - this is just a little nudge in the right direction.
Note 2: Northern Ireland, especially, is quite nuanced. Only 3 MEPs available. Study the 2014 election results, and any polling between now and 23 May. There are more choices than I had room for in my original tweet.

I have put together a guide to voting strategically "pro-Remain" in the upcoming 2019 European elections, based on the 2014 results. It's a pretty blunt analogue, because the picture was so different then, but absent detailed polls it's all we have...

The single biggest way you can influence the upcoming European elections is to convince Labour-voting family, friends and colleagues that Labour are a pro-Brexit party. Spell out that this is all about Europe, not domestic policy. Then point them towards Remain alternatives.
In other words, there's no disconnect between voting Labour in the local elections then voting for a pro Remain party in the European elections 3 weeks later, because the ground being fought over is entirely different.
After all, in the absence of a second referendum, the European elections are the closest we're going to get.

First off, we must thank-you all. We launched a poll on Monday expecting maybe 500 responses maximum. Instead we had a whopping three-thousand-two-hundred-and-thirty votes on our Twitter poll.

That’s ridiculous.
We asked you which party you thought had the oldest average age of MPs.

Most of you, 66%, thought it was the @Conservatives, then the @LibDems (15%), then @UKLabour (14%), with the @theSNP coming in last with (5%).

I bet the SNP are feeling fairly youthful right about now.

Being the financial capital through which the majority of € is traded while still keeping the £.

The UK has taken the lead in efforts for EU enlargement. It pushed for the inclusion of Eastern European states. It pushed for Turkey to get its shit together so that it could join (which it made very slow progress with, and has largely been undone by Erdogan)
After #Brexit, the UK will have no influence on EU enlargement. In fact, as setting the EU as a rival, every country that joins the EU will a) strengthen the EU, and b) unravels any trade deals that the UK will have made with that country, isolating it further.
