/ These past few weeks have been a crazy, hectic time for $TSLAQ. If you’ll forgive the diversion and indulge me, I’d like to post a non-Tesla, Tesla thread.
/ The Tesla saga for all of us I’m sure has resulted in many surprises and unforeseen personal and professional discoveries. I’m no different. For me, the best part of this experience has been the personal connections forged from common and, in many cases, uncommon bonds.
/ I wanted to highlight one. Today is April 28th which to many Vietnamese Americans is a significant and momentous day. It is the day Saigon fell and many Vietnamese were forced to flee, literally, for their lives.
/ Someone who I communicate with often about Tesla, someone who has helped advance my knowledge of Tesla immeasurably, someone whose posts you all read, is a Vietnamese American. His personal story is remarkable. You should know it.
/ We were chatting casually one day last Christmas-break about our favorite pathological, narcissistic drug-abusing, incompetent CEO and, as is usually the case after a long drawn-out DM string, personal data started to leak.
/ I live in a part of Boston that has the highest concentration of ethnic Vietnamese in MA (and also, ironically, was the epicenter of the Boston busing wars from the 70’s). We started discussing his heritage, his family’s story.
/ Here’s the DM exchange:

/ I have never met this person. We only communicate through email and DM’s. We share an interest in cars (Ford performance vehicles in particular). His understanding of auto manufacturing (and millennial slang) is encyclopedic.
/ I and my shareholders have benefitted greatly from his insights and I will be forever indebted to him but also for opening a window into a truly remarkable story.
/ @teslacharts has described his foray into Twitter as an experiment in social media. I agree with that. For me, from this cesspool of a stock, incredible relationships have been forged. I am a better because of them.
/ The contrast is striking. On the one hand, you have a lying, narcissistic, greedy, petty scammer of a CEO who literally and consciously tries to destroy lives and has no qualms about doing so.
/ On the other, regular people once carried up cargo nets to freedom who have the decency, honor and gratitude to appreciate and never forget sacrifices made on their behalf. These are easy sides to take.
/ While waiting for the plane home that Christmas break, my 16 and 18 year-old children, who really are terrific kids, were complaining about some minor inconvenience as teenagers do.
I pulled out my phone and made them read these DM’s. Thoughtful silence ensued. Mission accomplished. Maybe all of us will now put April 28th on their calendars and think of my friend.

Peace, bro.
