One of the best ways to guarantee an improvement in your aesthetics, is to become very, VERY good at pull-ups.

Your shoulders will broaden, biceps thicken, and it's all RELATIVE to your waistline.

A solid V-taper is the hallmark of a masculine appearance.

How do you get good?
Start doing many reps on an assisted machine.

You CAN do many single reps on a normal bar (bodyweight), but this will take forever.

Get the volume in on machines and you'll get better faster.

Do 3-4 sets, 3 times per week, and push yourself in each set.

Next:
Eventually, you'll be able to progress onto bodyweight pull-ups (you'll get there fast if you're losing a load of fat).

You may want to do the first 1-2 sets bodyweight, then finish off on the assited machine.

Either way, start off heavier.

Try to get to the point where...
You can do 10+ reps with bodyweight....again this will take a bit of time.

Eventually, you'll be able to start adding weight - this can either be in the form of weight attached to a belt around your waist, OR a dumbbell between your legs, OR a backpack on.

Again:
Once you get to the point whereby you can do 10+ reps with 10kg+ additional weight, you're going to be a strong motherf*****.

Guaranteed broad shoulders.

Guaranteed bigger biceps.

Guaranteed not to be fat (I don't know any REMOTELY chubby guys who can pull this off).
