Lol can't believe I wrote a thing for Impose where I said that Levon Helm's 2008 Bonnaroo set was one of the best of his career. 20-year-olds are fucking stupid
...as if it was up there with like, any of The Band's tours with Dylan, or The Last Waltz or some shit. Anyway never read your old work. Never, ever do it. Keep yourself pointed straight ahead.
The stuff I wrote trashing Kanye West's Glow in the Dark Tour from that same Bonnaroo was also just spectacularly stupid--although in my defense, he *did* show up like 2 1/2 hours late...
Other stuff from that Bonnaroo, the only one I've attended: MIA announced her retirement onstage (turned out she was pregnant and that it was not in fact her last show). A then-unknown Adele played one of those small tents in Centeroo that fits like 100 ppl (I missed it)
The biggest mindfuck of all was seeing Vampire Weekend play in front of what seemed like 10,000 people--just a few months after seeing them play at the Barnard student center for, uh, orders of magnitude fewer people than that
Fun fact, that Bonnaroo happened the same weekend as Tiger Woods's final major championship victory--at least until a few weeks ago. It's also the only time I got the see the original lineup of Battles perform--equally important events imo
