Those who claim Barr didn't lie under oath about the Mueller letter because he credibly said he didn't know what Mueller's *staff* believed when Crist asked about them should remember that Barr also said under oath that he thought Mueller's letter had been written by staff. Oops!
1/ More importantly, even after everyone in America had seen the Mueller letter, and seen that it said Mueller's problem was with *Barr's letter*—not with media coverage of the letter—Barr lied to Congress under oath about what Mueller's basis of concern was. A lie in plain view.
2/ So while I respect Benjamin Wittes, I don't know how *anyone* reads Barr's testimonies without finding lies under oath. I only grazed the surface here. Pelosi wasn't overreacting in saying Barr committed a crime. Dems rolled over when Sessions did so; I'm glad they're not now.

Barr repeatedly told Congress that he took everything in the Mueller report as "true" and made all his decisions based on Mueller's factual findings. But if you read Vol. 2, you discover that Barr disregards and disagrees with virtually *all* Mueller's factual findings. Stunning.
1/ In order for Barr to render the decision he did on obstruction, he had to *disagree with and disregard entirely* the vast majority of Mueller's factual findings, which underscores why Sen. Harris revealing that Barr didn't read Mueller's case file is such a *huge* revelation.
2/ One of many examples: Mueller found Trump ordering McGahn to dispute an NYT story could be obstruction because even though McGahn had already spoken to the SCO, he could be questioned again. Barr told Congress there couldn't be obstruction there, as McGahn already testified.

(IDEA) SDNY indicts Trump right now, daring Barr to fire the U.S. Attorney there for violating DOJ regulations. And yet that very firing would *confirm* that Mueller never had the option of indicting Trump, and that Barr lied in implying he did, which lie the firing would reveal.
1/ That is, Barr repeatedly lied to Congress by implying that when he and Rosenstein made their decision on obstruction, it was entirely possible that they could've made a different decision (that being to indict Trump). If SDNY indicts and Barr fires the USA, his lie is caught.
2/ Given that SDNY already wants to indict Trump, all this idea requires is a U.S. Attorney (USA) willing to be fired by Barr as a symbolic gesture—to stand up to what's become a lawless administration. Preet Bharara showed us that such a firing only ends with you being *famous*.

Gotta call this out.

The media is SO DAMN IRRESPONSIBLE.

The NYT tweeted that Barr said spying occurred on the Trump campaign...without any qualification, context, using "claimed' instead of said, nor a follow up correction.

And so this tweet lives on, misinforming the public.
The Washington Post did a better job...they provided context, conveyed the gravity of such an assertion, and used "thinks" instead of presenting the claim as a fact.

However, no follow up was issued when Barr clarified his claim.

And this tweet lives on.
#WATCH: Barr was ultimately forced to clarify.

First, he said that he meant "unauthorized surveillance" not "spying."

...AND...

"I AM NOT SAYING IMPROPER SURVEILLANCE OCCURED. I am saying that I am concerned about it and am looking into it. That's all."

Here’s another reason to think that the #MUELLER REPORT is going to be devastating for Trump. 1/10
So far no member of Trump’s family has been indicted, including Don Jr., even though Don Jr (according to all reliable reporting) lied his *** off behind closed doors in Congressional hearings. 2/10
And Don Jr. hasn’t been questioned by Team Mueller, which legal experts say is ominous for him, as it is a sign he is a target. 3/10

Is there no time restriction for assigning committee members? Is there some kind of reprimand available for @GOPLeader's & @senatemajldr's obstruction by refusing to appoint Congress members to @HouseIntel? Can @RepAdamSchiff overrule to send transcripts to #Mueller?

I mean seriously @GOP KNOWS (we ALL know) that MOST of the witnesses perjured themselves during testimony. They KNOW #Mueller can charge them as soon as he gets those transcripts. This is PURPOSEFUL delay & obstruction of justice. @DonaldJTrumpJr @jeffsessions @jaredkushner
