NEW: A federal judge in Virginia largely denied summary judgment to both sides in a lawsuit challenging state regulations and laws regarding abortion. The judge concluded the facts are in dispute and should go to trial assets.documentcloud.org/documents/5990… 
The judge did grant summary judgment in favor of the challengers on one count, blocking a Virginia law that says only licensed physicians can perform abortions in the first trimester (but leaving unresolved whether the law can stand for the second trimester)
The judge granted summary judgment to Virginia on one count, finding that the challengers' constitutional challenge to a law that says physicians are exempt from criminal liability if they carry out second trimester abortions in a licensed hospital "is not supported"
UPDATE: In an unusual order, a federal judge in Virginia took back his ruling last week (see attached thread) vacating a Virginia law that said only licensed doctors could perform abortions in the first trimester, and upholding that same law for second trimester procedures
The judge wrote that "on further consideration," whether the physicians-only law placed an undue burden on women seeking an abortion in Virginia "is a material fact that is genuinely in dispute"
