1) Ross Gerber SCOOP for $TSLAQ members: So I had my 1st encounter w/ @GerberKawasaki on Twitter today. And it was an eye-opening experience that confirmed my belief that he has no knowledge of financial analysis. (Please read on, as it's worth it)
2) I asked what his 2019 GAAP EPS estimate was based on his $30bn revenue assumption. To my astonishment, he replied: "I don’t factor that in. I see them with $1 bil FCF for the year."
3) I asked how he can have a FCF estimate w/out an adjusted net profit estimate and waited. And waited. I tweeted to him again, saying I'm happy to take it to DM and would be discrete, just wanted to know. Radio silence.
4) So I gave it one last try by trying to appeal to his fiduciary obligation to his clients (see attached).
5) So, no reply from @GerberKawasaki about his $TSLA earnings assumptions. My take: he has two lines in his earnings model (or note pad): Revenues (w/out any realistic assumptions) and FCF (which he pulls out of thin air). And he repeats this to clients & the media ad nauseam.
6) And it all started just b/c he *had* to weigh in on an exchange we were having about a disgruntled Tesla customer in Europe who hadn't received his expensive LR AWD Performance Model 3 after waiting for >5 months (see attached). How can we save his clients from his ineptitude?
