A pregnant Black woman is dead. Her executioner has no serious injuries and the police spokesman has the audacity to say: “It’s a tragic event for everybody involved. Of course, our hearts go out to the family of the deceased as well as our officer.” 1/

One of the most lethally racist narratives in America today is the police victimhood narrative. When cops choose to use lethal force instead of deescalating situations they are not victims. When cops fear Black bodies because of their racist ideas they are not victims. 2/
If she did try to take his taser and use it, why is that a death sentence? Why can cops kill in any way so they won’t be hurt in any way? Why do cops expect people to go willingly into slavery and feel they can summarily execute them when they resist? 3/
How can that be legal in nation that claims life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are unalienable rights? When have Black people ever felt they had a right to their life in the face of legalized terror?
Let me be clear: cops like this guy are a menace to society, to justice, to life, to everything and everyone we hold dear. Every time one of these cops murders someone they are murdering everything America claims to be.
