1000yr old Palasnath temple. It gets submerged in Ujani dam backwaters for most of the year. Insanely beautiful 😍

The small hole near bottom of gopuram is a crawl space. The gopuram is hollow 😄
Across the water, one can see another temple. Will post closer pics from there.
The backwaters are also home to migratory birds (I know this ain't the season). But any enthusiast should have this place in their visit list. Google 'Bhigwan' or 'Palasdev'.
This writing inside the temple. The locals told me this is where it is mentioned. Of 1019 being the year the temple was built. See end of 2nd line.
We rowed across to this next beauty.
This one has Ramayana stories carved onto it's outer walls. It is said there's an unimaginable treasure hidden below this temple. Hence the attempts (see last pic) to dig at the center by vandals.

Our boatman told us there's an old tunnel which connects these two temples. Collapsed now.
