Thread on Indian Railways initiative. @PiyushGoyal ji spoke of a Rail Drishti app. Like his stint in the Power ministry, with dashboards in real-time to track the ministry initiatives, his new stint in Railways brings to us Rail Drishti. Here's the site -

The site opens with a dashboard listing numbers & their growth y-o-y. With a rai line map on the right. A small gears symbol on the right opens up a tab where one can toggle the buttons to highlight different station categories onto the map. I toggled NSG 3 for e.g
Clicking on a particular staion's bubble will pop-up details of a particular station which gives info about the station's physical infra, footfall, train passage etc. There is also a button to see all these details in pdf form right there near the top of the pop-up. Nice :)
There's so many things integrated here. The top bar has various tabs listing other services.

Train Running status is integrated too. There's a whole big list of items to dig into on this site. Achievements, Freight earning, passenger earning nos. with zone wise dashboards..! Phew. Full transparency mode..! How a true RTI system should work, isn't it?
The 2 super cool tabs are the Heritage tab & the Station Images tab. Heritage tab has options for Rail Heritage, Memorable journey routes, & Virtual Tours of a few stations..! Some cool stories featured there..! Loving it. #MODIfiedRailways

Allegedly a "grassroots effort," the ICE Foundation (2010-2018) was a non-profit org led by former ICE & DHS officials turned corporate leaders & lobbyists that used to "bring together govt & industry leaders" from tech, mass incarceration and elsewhere, ostensibly for charity.

For clear perspective, when APC took over power, 24 states could not pay salaries, GDP declined from avg 6% to 2%.

The Buhari govt had to extend ₦1.9 trillion to states to enable them meet their salary obligations and over ₦600bn in budget support facility.
The Buhari administration had to offset debts/liabilities inherited to the tune of ₦7 trillion due pensioners/salary arrears, JV cash calls, Paris Club overdeductions, Oil Subsidy debts, refund to states for road, contractors etc.
