1/ Just tried this Evernote => Microsoft OneNote import tool, currently in preview status, to test out how notes are migrated from one to the other. I'm not switching but corporate trainings require MS products onenote.com/import-evernot…
2/ It was easy to download and run. They use very similar metaphors, but at different levels, i.e. a notebook is the highest level in OneNote, but not in Evernote

Note (EN) = Page (ON)
Notebook = Section
Stack = Notebook
3/ Surprisingly, formatting is preserved. At least, the only ones I care about: bolding and highlighting (because they're essential for my progressive summarization method)
4/ Images and tags also seem to be preserved perfectly
5/ There's a checkbox to preserve organization by tags, and if checked, then all notes with the same tag will be placed in their own "section" with that tag name ("serend" was a tag in Evernote)
6/ If you downloaded and installed EN from their site, the importer will auto-detect any notebooks you have and you can select which ones to import. But if you installed EN via the Mac App Store, the only option is to individually export EVERY notebook as an ENEX file....ugh
7/ I'll be releasing a OneNote Resource Guide in the form of a shared ON notebook soon. The program is installed on over a billion computers worldwide, so if note-taking is going to spread to schools and other institutions we need to use what they already have access to
