Literal shower thought: I have to shower more when I’m in SG than when I’m in SF. It’s not something I ever thought about, but I can go all day in SF & still feel fresh, while I start to feel dank like 1/3 to 1/2 way through a day in hot, humid SG. Same body different environment
My wife urged me to travel for over a decade & I never really listened. (The number of times where “just do what @sharanvkaur says” would’ve improved my life...)

how I’d frame it for my younger self is: it gets you questioning everything you don’t realize you’re not questioning

one of the coolest things I can do is refer someone else who's more qualified than me + a better fit than me for something. I manage to simultaneously...

1. make at least two people very happy
2. create some real wealth in the world
3. avoid actually doing any work myself
there is some meta-work:

1. you gotta keep track of who's good at what (which I find naturally interesting to pay attention to)

2. you gotta be Not Be An Asshole + Not Tolerate Assholes, which is generally advisable anyway
"keeping track of who's good at what" is a subset of "keeping track of what's good", which is a subset of "cultivate taste"

1. cultivate taste
2. share it with others freely
3. don't be an asshole

why were 90's cartoons intro themes so damn good?
I mean, the MCU has been pretty great, but I don't think anything about it slaps nearly as hard as the 90s X-Men cartoon intro
The Ghostbusters starts out kinda chill, but when you get to the 30 second mark – the melody, the descending bass notes, (one note hits deliciously earlier than you expect it to), then the harmony on top... so sick

One of the reasons I am drawn to writing, and ~LitErArY pUrSuiTs~, is that I find it to be an exciting, liberating, emboldening way of making sense of the world, of making meaning. It doesn’t even need to be Meaning with a capital M. It’s just about playing with associations
What I mean by that is – writing, tweeting, playing with ideas – these are ways in which I make the world around me more interesting, more meaningful. One simple way to do this is to research the history of every object in your vicinity. Suddenly your boring stuff comes alive
I've been thinking about talismans recently – everything sacred becomes sacred because people deem it such. You can decide to give objects meaning. It's not *entirely* arbitrary – there's an art to it, the stories you tell with and about your objects should resonate with you

1) Someone was just saying they didn't know I was MKUltra'd by the Gov. I suppose I should say again what happened to me to catch everybody up. I worked for the Fed Gov for 30 years.
2) In 1999 I came up with a project that would replace another project (aviation computers) and cause a 27 Million $ cost savings. What I didn't know at the time was that the 27 Million $ was the money that was being laundered from the taxpayer to the private company.

This was 4 months after the NYT op-ed page published @LouiseMensch as its expert on what Congress should be investigating on Trump/Russia: her exclusive report that Orrin Hatch was secretly being prepared to be President & was already receiving security briefings.
A major but under-appreciated aspect of the media's behavior in the Trump/Russia mania are the charlatans who were elevated, given platforms & praised for their expertise & insights. Go back & read Eric Garland's "game theory" thread & remember who praised it & what they said.
Just take a look at what the editor-in-chief of a major liberal journal said about one of the most unhinged, deranged, maniacal and twisted rants ever posted on this site. This is the climate that prevailed after Trump won & it only degenerated from there

The 70s BULK Program

This is simple as it get, this program prioritizes squats, deadlifts, rows, presses, and chins/pullups. You do these compound movements, and then you do some DB and bodyweight movements afterwards for further building
There are no machines, no cables, no complicated rep schemes.

You are only training 4 days a week, but the workouts are pretty brutal. Y

you will be tired, you will be sore

expect to be in the gym for a solid hour. Each workout is 25 total sets
Program Diet

-Eat 3 meals a day
-Eat your bodyweight x 16 in calories on training days, 12x on non training days
-Each meal should have at least 8oz of protein, plus a sizeable amount of carbs. Dont worry about fat

I remember that day so clearly. I was on surveillance about an hour out when my mom called me about the first plane, then all of a sudden the second plane hit. I told her I loved her and I had to go. I followed a line of NJSP all the way up the turnpike

What usually took me an hour to an hour & a half took me about 35-40 minutes. I got into the FBI Newark Office & got brought up to speed when we were told a plane was taken that originated out of Newark airport. I think after being told that, we were all in shock.
You see, we had 2 NK JTTF members scheduled to be on that flight. One INS Agent & one FBI Agent. Then my SSA’s phone rang. The two had switched their flights the night before. They were pretty shaken. Our large conference room became our command post.

I been gaming since 1975, and I been doing his fighting game shit since 1984. Days of Karate a champ! I ha e grown up in arcades/7-11/Bodegas my whole life! I have had many stupid moments and mistakes in my life done to me, done by me, and done stupidly!
But watching the FGC try and become esports is very sad for me to see, on many levels. For starters you think those who push it care for you? It’s the urges to recoup lost money over the years. As well for some a 6.50 bottle of water is their only source of income.
