POTUS says he is pro life as he prepares to pardon war criminals and his administration sues to end ACA, an attempt which if successful would throw millions of people off healthcare and their lives into total chaos.
POTUS uses abortion as his latest political strategy to score points with his base. In a nation that largely supports choice, this may placate a few voters but it will be a battle he will lose in the 2020 run.
Remember the first Women's March? On the mall in DC, packed in so tight, I spent hours and hours speaking to women and men who marched.
The belief that all who marched were liberals is a myth. I met many conservative women who felt, even back then, Trump was a threat to them.
Those demonstrations took place coast to coast, in most major cities. That's a lot of women. That's a lot of men. That is a lot of folks who won't forget this position by POTUS now.
Take a look at the photo I snapped from the march in 2017. There was a lot of diversity. This isn't a women's only issue. Many a voter have a vested interest in protecting Roe.
And as the sign says, many have stayed vigilant. Lest we forget. Or undersell the power of the people when stirred to protect their rights.

"If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready."
Again. More proof. I stood in this spot, literally STUCK, in a massive wall of people. It took me 45 minutes to traverse 3 blocks. That I was never more than a foot away from a man at any given time spoke volumes about who is invested.
SIGN: "Where women lead, men will follow."
Thats the Capitol you see all the way off in the distance in the center of my photo. There were people, almost always shoulder to shoulder, for the entire length of that distance from where I stood before the Washington monument.

Think about that.

SIGN: "My body, my choice."
In a nutshell:
What issues people came to protest were many during the women's march. Whether it was rejecting Trump specifically or protesting for the preservation of human rights or the right to choose. The list was endless.
I met people of all ages, all orientations, and varied political leanings from all over the country.

There is a tendency to think a march is about one idea, one thing. Anyone who goes to these marches and speaks to strangers from sun up to sun down, knows that is not the case.
America is so incredibly diverse and the beauty in 1A is when the people come out, when they get off social media and they engage, they see what they are capable of. They see beyond their own nose. They see the issues are multidimensional and the people who care are too.
Here is a short list of issues people told me they cared about and why they turned out: Trump being in office, abortion, immigration, climate, corruption, civil rights, war, nuclear war, enviro regs, education, debt, labor, infrastructure, fair housing, fair wages, fair voting..
Religious persecution, racism and white supremacy, separation of church and state, free speech and a free press, LGBT+ rights, school to prison pipelines...literally, everything under the sun brought people out.
And that's the point of this thread - what POTUS will use today for political expediency might not serve him in the long run.

Now, go enjoy your Sunday. Get offline and go talk to a person face to face!
