When Treasury Secy Mnuchin was asked if he thought the American people had a right to know what is in Trump's tax returns, he said: “No, I don’t. Presidents are not required to turn them over. The American people knew he didn’t release them before they voted for him."

Mnuchin says his refusal to comply with the request for Trump's tax returns is based on "legal advice given to him by the Department of Justice' and that he has been advised *if * he turned them over, *he* would be acting unlawfully.

Mnuchin also said today that the redesign of the $20 bill featuring Harriet Tubman would not be rolled out in 2020 as planned. It will come out in 2028 instead. The secretary cited concerns over counterfeiting as the reason for the delay.
A redesigned $10 bill and $50 bill with “new features” will be released beforehand, however. Trump, ahead of his election, called the Obama admin's decision to place Tubman on the bill “pure political correctness.”
When Rep. @AyannaPressley asked Mnuchin if he believed, personally, that U.S. currency should reflect diversity of historical American leadership, Mnuchin said: “I can’t separate my personal opinion from the issues of the treasury."
