Many have said this, but it seems particularly relevant today. The question isn't 'leave or remain', it is 'what sort of relationship do we want to have with the EU (and the wider world)'. 1/
Those who voted leave want a different relationship with the EU to the one we have at the moment. It is obvious that the different relationship could take many forms. 2/
We could (for example) have no links with the EU, we could have a trade agreement, we could be part of the customs union, or part the single market. We could or could not cooperate on defence, security and climate change. Etc etc 3/
Saying that we want to leave the EU, even 'properly', does not provide the answer. Instead, we should focus on what sort of relationship with the EU might replace EU membership; and why it is (or is not) 'better' than what we now have. 4/4
