Izvestia reports that the VKS will stand up 3 two-squadron fighter regiments with 24 Su-57 each, and another 4 at the 4th Combat Training Center in Lipetsk. The 3 Su-57 regiments will likely be located in the main strategic areas: the NW, SW, and Far East.

This is a common decision by the MoD. The 23rd Fighter Aviation Regiment was the first VKS unit to receive the Su-35S, and the 120th Mixed Aviation Regiment received the first Su-30SM (it is located near Irkutsk). 4/

Lieutenant General Valery Gorbenko said only the best pilots would be assigned to fly the Su-57, and the fighters would be adopted gradually. They would first go to the Chkalov State Flight Test Center for tests and their pilots' first flights before arriving at their unit. 5/
