I would humbly submit that the Democrats are engaging in a "Don't throw me in that briar patch" maneuver when it comes to impeachment. Trump is a buffoon but he is also a wily snake - it will take caution and patience to take him down. One wrong step and he becomes Godzilla. 1/8
Impeachment is a political exercise. Public opinion *must* be behind it. Political junkies on Twitter know the ins & outs of this case but the average person does not. The hearings that are coming will help in that effort. 2/8
Court rulings against Trump's attempts at obstruction will as well. The path to Nixon's resignation (upon being informed articles of impeachment were imminent) took a couple years. The Mueller report has been out a month. 3/8
Believe it or not, things are actually moving very quickly. It doesn't feel like it because this is all like being trapped in a dystopian horror movie and every second is torture. But, patience is required here. 4/8
There is a path and a process that must be walked. There are no shortcuts. And we have one shot. When you aim for the King, you best not miss. So, let the process go forward and trust the remedy the Founders gave us.

The Dems are in a precarious situation. They have to play this so the public DEMANDS they proceed - not as eager litigants. "Don't throw me in that briar patch," said Briar Rabbit. But, of course, that is where Briar Rabbit wanted to go along. 6/8
They need public opinion to reach a critical mass and push them, ostensibly unwillingly, towards an impeachment inquiry. Trump, being Trump, is stupidly helping them by stonewalling. The case is being built, brick by brick, for the public's consumption. 7/8
Continue pushing and raging because public opinion matters. What we do on Twitter counts towards that effort. Give voice to the anger you feel at the constant outrages of this president. Just don't lose hope - one way or another, he and his spawn are going down. Bigly. 8/8
