Bernie Sanders proposing a $60,000 teachers salary is per formative white man shit aimed at low information voters... A THREAD.

1. School funding, including teachers salaries, are determined on a local level. The bulk of funding is local.

Instead of calling for higher salaries, I would have called for water fountains that pour out strawberry milkshakes or blo pops with orgasms in the middle.

2. Of course, schools in rich white neighborhoods can do this. Some already do. What will already underfunded schools do?

A. Hire fewer teachers and increase the size of classes

B. Take money from other parts of the finite school budget.

3. It is true that teachers should be paid more. Maybe the federal government could create some kind of direct-to-teacher grant program to supplement salaries.

Wait... that’s actually a good idea! I wonder if there’s a Senator with enough seniority to write a bill like that?🤔

4. But maybe Bernie is really concerned about education and not just saying shit.

5. Still, teachers should be paid more. We should have a president who can do something about it.

But you know who WON’T do shit about it? A motherfucker who’s been a part of the most powerful body in the world for more than a quarter century and hasn’t done shit about it yet.

6. Last thing: Bernie supports charter schools whic, by definition, takes public money and gives it to businesspeople to run our schools.

How’d that privatized prisons thing work out? How is privatized health care working out?
