Don't agree with Justin Amash's analysis on impeachment, but respect his independence and willingness to defend his views in public, including a 2+ hour town hall yesterday in Grand Rapids. More elected officials should have that mindset, whether or not you agree on the substance
Trump supporter wearing a MAGA hat asked Amash why he suddenly became a Democrat. Amash replied that he was elected in the "Tea Party" wave, has the most fiscally conservative record in Congress, and GOP has stopped caring about spending. All true, impeachment question aside
GOP's total fraudulence on the issue of spending, deficit, and debt -- which they screamed about nonstop every single day throughout Obama's presidency, in complete bad faith -- is a gigantic and under-remarked-upon deception. Amash is correct to point that out
Paul Ryan ran as the GOP's vice presidential nominee in 2012 and his primary criticism of Obama/Biden related to spending, deficit, and debt. Then he became Speaker of the House under a unified GOP government and ballooned spending, deficit, and debt. Fraud of epic proportions
