Think about this.

It essentially says “I am rational to believe whatever I please unless and until someone else takes the trouble to prove the contradictory to my satisfaction. I have no epistemic responsibility of my own. Only other people have duties to establish my beliefs.”
One of the more annoying false beliefs of atheists is that religious believers have a duty to give demonstrations on demand. No other beliefs are treated this way. “Believing that P” is not “I assert you should believe that P” is not “I undertake to demonstrate that P to you.”
For example, I believe in truth. Postmodernists do not. I can see no way this leads to a duty on my part to prove truth—it’s not clear how one could prove anything to one who rejects truth. It also seems evident that belief in truth is the correct default, not unbelief.
The proposition “unbelief is the rational default in all cases” has a superficial plausibility, but does not withstand even cursory rational scrutiny. Taken to its logical conclusion, it would lead to mental nullity: having no beliefs and being unable to believe even that.
