Thoughtful comparison of argument versus narrative...
I think of both as a kind of mind control - trying to force or guide or cajole the other person's mind into a certain state, a state the recognises a truth explicitly or that feels the truth of something without necessarily being able to articulate it

General principle of neural development: genetic programs specify an initial map of connections, but this is crucially refined by patterned electrical activity (first internally generated and later in response to experience)
Partly why you get cascading effects of mutations causing early connectivity differences - they necessarily also change the patterns of electrical activity that drive later refinement

We all have implicit assumptions and perspectives that we fail to question (or even recognise) - this is true for individuals and for whole disciplines. This is why exposure to thinking from other disciplines can be such a mind-opener
It can give you a much needed kick in the confirmation bias...

1) #MKULTRA is misunderstood. The #ConspiracyTheories have merit, but #weaponization goes well beyond #hollywood movies into the realm of things that are hard to imagine we'd do.

When resources are unlimited, you get the best weapons. This is a story about the CIA.
