@JohnBoyega @CushJumbo I honestly wouldn’t think anything bad about Brits speaking out against any perceived divisiveness done by #ADOS if they weren’t always turning a blind eye to the same behavior when done by their own.
There is this weird double standard that happens and I think deep down it comes from thinking they’re better (Jumbo *literally* says they’re better) so that their criticism of ADOS are implicitly more excusable than vice versa by virtue of being “true”

The continued charge that #ADOS thought leaders are intellectually and morally lacking, and if only they would be supplanted by more "responsible" or "respectable" leadership, that they, we, would somehow be in more desirable graces... (1/x)
After a more careful and considered review, it is one that I ultimately refute.

The nexus of all of these fears are about the immigration stance. (2/x)

#ADOS isn’t just a reparations movt, but a need for reparations explained thru the lens of historic income inequality & wealth calcification, and understanding that as whites r inheriting wealth, we’re inheriting the poverty of accrued disadvantage & bottom caste existence 🇺🇸
1) So the criticism of “reparations advocacy didn’t start with #ADOS!” is a misnomer. We never claimed that. But we did use the inequality work of economists like Piketty & Darity to show that money comes thru inheritance now, not labor & there is no catching up. 🇺🇸
2) We dealt a death blow to do-for-selferism, showing thru Darity‘s work & others that #ADOS disadvantage is not the result of cultural deficits & thus, cant be fixed through individual agency or effort.

It's 2019, evangelicals are having the exact same "how do we make progress on race" discourse I addressed with Carl Ellis, Anthony Carter, etc. in 1998 in Miami. Nothing's changed. The best solution "multi-ethnic" churches?, which are really churches for interracial couples. #BHM
(In 1998, the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals had a bunch of us in Miami given lectures on the future of race and evangelicalism.)
More specifically, multi-ethnic churches are safe places for many black men who wouldn't marry black women (so they didn't have to face #ADOS black women who would resent them for it). But that's another discussion about the way black women have been maligned & sidelined. #BHM
