Has anybody explained yet on what basis Farage & Tice were allowed to use Downing Street & the front door of No 10 as the backdrop for a political stunt, providing priceless visual footage that Leavedoteu will exploit? Who authorised this & why did they think it was a good idea?
“No, sorry. If you want a letter delivered to the PM, you go into that post office & buy a stamp, & there’s a letterbox outside. What do you mean the video footage won’t look any good? Is it about sending a letter, or a publicity stunt that you want us to assist you with?”

Stop referring to it as an “implementation” period. We haven’t agreed what we’re transitioning too, so we can’t implement it. It isn’t even a transition period. It’s a pre-cliff edge standstill period during which we’ll try to negotiate the thing that we’re going to implement.
Language matters. It’s partly this kind of abuse of language that got us into this mess in the first place.

Jeremy Hunt today: “The political damage of no Brexit would be more than the economic damage of No-Deal”. In other words, he is telling ppl already nursing a sense of grievance that they are right & if they don’t get their way they’re entitled to throw their toys out of the pram.
Is stoking a sense of betrayal in an already polarised society what a responsible political leader should be doing? Rhetorical, don’t @ me
(NB - not specifically singling out Hunt here: virtually the entire Conservative party and a lot of Labour MPs guilty of this: all who say “stopping Brexit would destroy trust in politics”. The responsible alternative would be to say: “we don’t actually have to do this”.)

So... Esther McVey is backing Boris Johnson because he’s going to take on board her “Blue-Collar Conservatism” agenda (aka fascism-lite), whereas Matt Hancock is backing him on a pro-enterprise One Nation ticket. Hmmm
It’s almost as if Boris Johnson were trying to be all things to all people.
It’s also as if Conservative MPs are falling over themselves to find excuses to support Boris Johnson’s leadership bid even though they must know deep down that the reasons don’t stack up

The following set of tweets detail what happened to me coming home Saturday night to University Heights in the BX. I am not doing this for attention/sympathy, but rather to warn the public, especially my fellow women, who may live in the area or know some1 who does.
My Uber dropped me off at 3:50AM. I’ll also take this opportunity to reiterate the importance of drivers waiting for their passengers to arrive at their front door safely before driving off. In this case, mine didn’t.
