Let's talk about job interviews, since apparently "don't ask people to recite CS trivia" is apparently controversial.
You want to learn three things when you're interviewing someone.
Can they do the job?
Will they do the job?
Are they a complete asshole?
Can they do the job? Ask them questions that expose the capability you're trying to hire for. It's likely not "can memorize algorithmic trivia."

Let's say you price yourself as a percentage of bill. You shouldn't, I don't, and everyone freaking hates it, but nobody has a SaaS pricing model that works much better than that for this problem. (2/10)
But you're going to go SaaS (your VCs demand it!), and you're going to charge a percentage. Let's say 3%. That's within ballpark of list price for the existing players. (3/10)

Time for our occasional series 'Women with great hair fleeing gothic houses!' And today I present a brief history of the rise and fall and rise again of the gothic romance novel...
New readers start here: what is a gothic romance? Well it's a romance story with strong supernatural themes, all tied to an atmospheric and foreboding building which our heroine must flee.

Actually it's a lot more complex than that...
Firstly it has a long pedigree. Horace Walpole's The Castle of Otranto (1764) is usually acknowledged as the first gothic romance; set during the Crusades it follows Lord Manfred's fateful decision to divorce his wife and pursue his dead son's bride-to-be Isabella.

1/ Many of you are saying you like my ideas, you have no confidence in Andrew Scheer’s weak leadership, but you still plan to vote for the CPC because you are concerned that vote splitting will allow Trudeau to be re-elected. Here are three arguments to consider.
2/ First, the split has already happened. Denying it will not make it go away. If what you want is a real alternative to Trudeau, then you should join me and encourage everyone you know to do the same. The faster the shift happens, the less splitting there will be next year.
3/ Second, the new party will not just take votes away from the CPC, but also from Libs and other parties, as a poll showed last week. And because it offers something new, it will motivate many among the 35% of Cdns who abstain. GAINING new votes will make the difference.

Him: Well I'm applying to med school. If I make it, I'll spend the vast majority of my time studying for the next 4 years. You and I will be able to go on (cheap) dates very occasionally, but even then I'll feel guilty about not studying.
I won't have any money, so you'll have to support me on your income, otherwise I'll have to take out more student loans on top of 40k per year tuition. My parents don't make enough to help with tuition but they make too much for me to get a need based scholarship.
It will take time for me to figure out what kind of doctor I want to be, but my decision will be dictated somewhat by how well I do on a test and if attendings like me personally. This decision will heavily influence my earning potential & how quickly we can pay off my 300k debt
