So the real point of reminding everyone that we still have a housing affordability problem for young (and other) people is ACTUALLY to point out that it's political will, not solutions, that are lacking.

Why is calling out racism and bigotry considered worse than actual racism and bigotry these days? Why was it OK for the UCP to feature hard right extremists Sheila Gunn Reid and Keean Bexte at their election night party and mainstream media didn’t bat an eye?
How is it no big deal that the founder of the one of most racist, violent, alt right propaganda factories (the Rebel) is the campaign manger for one of the mainstream federal parties (CPC)? Why is this stuff all just shrugged off? What is happening?

So for the last few months I have been exploring setting up a dedicated #Housing advice centre for #Suffolk. It is undeniable that due to the lack of #LegalAid provision in the county and the increase in people seeking specialist advice that a housing advice centre is desirable.
Whilst speaking to people about this a question that has been raised a number of times is “why are you not still providing specialist housing advice at @midsuffolkcab?” A good question that really does need answering so here goes.
This was me just over 7 months ago, happy #volunteering for @midsuffolkcab as a housing adviser and running a general advice outreach service at Wattisham. I was busy, the role stressful but for the most part I was throughly enjoying being part of something that I believed in.

Canadians seem to naturally achieve political balance by countering swings in provincial politics with opposing federal parties.

The swings are often massive, occurring about every 10 years, with almost total shifts from right to center-left and back.

Interesting how the Charter was created in an environment of very strong Conservative provincial politics.

1982 was a period when more than 2/3 of the provinces were conservative and infamous PET was Prime Minister.

A different time when country came first.

Jane Philpott & Jody Wilson-Raybould are the only ones (beyond perhaps the Kinsellas) who know their weird plan to improve transparency by tearing down the most transparent Prime Minister & government in #cdnpoli history. /1
Trudeau added Prime Minister's question period, released mandate letters, doesn't hide from media & press conferences like Harper did, doing access to info reform, unmuzzled scientists, freed public servants & StatsCan to present facts & the PM is still doing open town halls. /2
JWR & Philpott are confidants, friends & colleagues who obviously discussed all of this in advance. PM knew to tie their futures together inside cabinet. No one can deny that they're in this together at this point. They can say it's sexist to bring it up, but it's a factor. /3
