Some of y'all claim to be against racism, colorism, fatphobia, homophobia, (or any type of bullying) in the cosplay community, but don't actually speak up against it because y'all are scared of losing followers, con invites, and sponsorships and it really shows. (1/13)
Not saying that you have to do it every single minute and every single day, but some of you guys don't actually discuss it more. And I really noticed this pattern with the well known. The only time you guys finally say something is when an issue gets viral or when it (2/13)
happens to someone who's equally famous or your equally famous buddies. I don't see you guys actually defend more cosplayers who aren't well known or aren't conveniently attractive. And these are the cosplayers who really need the support the most! Before people accuse me (3/13)
of saying that you shouldn't support the popular ones who get bullied. I'm not saying that at all. All I'm saying is that if you claim to be against bullying then defend ALL types of cosplayers who get bullied & not just the famous or conveniently attractive. (4/13)
And when you guys do say something then it's some vague ass post about "Cosplay is for all" or something like that without addressing the actual issue and the root because you guys are scared of losing followers, con invites, & other opportunities. I'm sorry but (5/13)
to me that's kinda selfish and it looks like you're only looking out for yourself while acting as if you care about everyone in front of your followers for the clout. I speak up & I lose followers all the time. There's no way in hell do I want people who (6/13)
condone bullying to follow me. I don't want to work with cons & companies who condone bullying. Wouldn't you want to be around or work with followers/cons/companies etc. who actually believe that cosplay is for all and actually care about all cosplayers, especially (7/13)
the super marginalized? Trying to be all vague because you don't want to lose the followers, con invites, sponsorships, etc. is not worth it. Also people tend to bring up a point that they want to make it 100% positive and talking about this (8/13)
is "too political" and that cosplay is suppose to be an escape. Do y'all realize that it's suppose to be an escape for black/plus sized/disabled/LGBTQ/etc. cosplayers too, but even in the cosplay world, we can't escape the discrimination & bullying we face outside? (9/13)
We're not welcomed in certain places (it's obviously not in your face, but very subtle). It's 20× harder for us to get opportunities (and especially for the super marginalized). We still get nasty comments on our cosplay pics. We get told all the time that we shouldn't (10/13)
cosplay our fav characters. Yt cosplayers blackface & get praise while actual darker skinned cosplayers get hate. We get denied opportunities and videotographers/photographers refuse to work with us (despite us wanting to pay just like everyone else) because we don't fit (11/13)
their "aesthetic". Then y'all give us some tone deaf comment of "ignoring it". How can we when it's in out faces 24/7? I see where you guys are coming from, but the whole "ignoring" shit doesn't actually solve the issue. It needs to be discussed. More people need to (12/13)
take off the rose colored glasses and actually see the reality of what certain types of cosplayers go through!

And no I don't hate these cosplayers who are guilty of this. I just want to see you guys do better! (13/13)
Also if it doesn't apply then let it fly!
I'm not the best writer and I'm terrible at articulating my thoughts, but I hope you guys were still able to understand my message!
