Survivors face great pressure from church members and leaders who not only teach that it is never appropriate to sue a church, even after the "courts" of the church have failed them, but also portray those who do pursue lawsuits as angry and motivated by greed.
For example, @MinistrySafe has a massive influence on how churches treat survivors. But I believe they recently framed those who seek litigation as "angry" and having a "monetary motivation" and framed those who represent survivors as greedy attorneys with billboards on highways.
Speaking of those who sue churches, they say,

“It’s an attractive target for those who would choose to have a monetary motivation in it, including plaintiffs lawyers. Entities get sued when they are worth suing.”
They also imply it is robbing God:

“We don’t sue churches. Okay. Plenty of people will. I mean there’s some practical aspect of that too of like, suing the Body of Christ, meeting Jesus someday, and telling him I gave them back ten percent. You know. It’s just unwise I feel.”
Speaking of lawyers who represent abuse survivors:

"There are infinite numbers of plaintiffs lawyers who will take those cases... They are lining up to take the cases. There’s a lot of money in this. Their pictures are on the billboard on the highway to take the case."
When asked, "If you don't represent victims, who will help them.." they respond,

"We feel called to mend and build up the church, not to tear it down."

By implication, survivors and the lawyers who do pursue litigation are seeking to tear down the church.
Instead, they prefer a "trip to the woodshed"

"Now, when you build up and mend, that doesn’t mean you’re not going to take a trip to the woodshed, so there's going to be some difficult conversations and some people are going to be difficult personalities in that sometimes."
I say this because I believe their words tear down church survivors and those who might represent them legally, making them out to be angry and motivated by money.

My experience and research has led me to believe that most are motivated by a concern for others and for justice.
