😔 Apple is still letting top grossing apps (@calm) get away with things that they’ve been rejecting other apps for. I (and lots of other developers I’ve talked to) was told that the price has to be on the button and in a font of similar size/weight as the other button text. 
Now that they’ve fixed the Touch ID issues and improved the “buy sheet” () maybe the rules have been relaxed again. Has anyone else tried the big Continue button with the price hidden recently?
And of course Apalon is still doing it 🤦🏼♂️ ($156/yr for a weather app! And it’s obviously working or Apalon wouldn’t be doing it.)
I’m all for premium app pricing, but I seriously doubt that most people who subscribe to this app realize they are paying $156/yr. (and the price has been higher in the past, so there are likely tens of thousands of people paying even more without realizing it).
Wow, @Calm even has a brilliant hack to get around Apple’s IAP policies. Just a few minutes after installing the app and creating an account (which was required), I get a discount offer via email to subscribe on their website. 👏🏻
Developers who try and play by the rules are brining knives to a gun fight. I keep trying to make a dent in the weather app category because I see so many bland apps making crazy money. That’s what sent me down this rabbit hole figuring out all the tricks and scams top apps use.
