The Kyle Kashuv case reminds me of the Brett Kavanaugh case: in both cases, the entitled outrage that something the vast majority of people don’t ever get on equally arbitrary grounds (jobs, elite college acceptances) was denied to them.
What is Harvard’s acceptance rate? How many kids with perfect grades and SAT scores don’t get in because they’re from a slightly too populous state or don’t play water polo when the water polo team needs a player?
It’s also rich for conservatives, who believe in consequences and personal responsibility, to be upset about...consequences and personal responsibility.
One more thought: as I learned the hard way, freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from the consequences of that speech. And, as I recall, the conservatives on this website roundly called for those consequences and cheered when they happened.
