The billionaire press has always attacked progressive tax reform, for obvious reasons. But this scaremongering has reached the point of self-parody.

I'm just relieved that the Daily Mail, none of whose journalists appear to have read the report, hasn't seen the chapter where we propose the mass internment of middle-class householders, the drowning of their pets and the controlled demolition of Northcliffe House.

A crucially important article by Terry Burke, that everyone on the left should read. It shows how we've been divided by a "substantial, coordinated disinformation effort" originating with Russian and Syrian state media. countervortex.org/node/16383
Large numbers of people have fallen for blatant lies, generated by the Steve Bannon strategy of countering the left by "flooding the zone with shit". Many who should know better have been blithely recycling Russian and Syrian propaganda. The peace movement has been riven by it.
As a result, "most of the peace movement in the US still doesn't recognize the legitimacy of the Syrian people's eight-year struggle against the Assad dictatorship."

This is a nuanced and interesting article by Jon Cruddas. theguardian.com/commentisfree/… But:
1. Leave voting was far more consistent among rich Conservatives than across the working class. So Labour's support for Brexit means, in practice, aligning with its opponents.

2. He's right that Labour should never forget or neglect the interests of working class people. But there is no obvious connection between this principle and support for Brexit. Brexit severely threatens the interests of much of Labour's base.
3. There were always problems with the workplace as the centre of political organisation. Retired and unemployed people were excluded. Some workplaces (factories/mines) were effective centres of organisation. Others (domestic service) less so. Women were often under-represented

Bottom line. Whatever happens to language of bill, patients would not receive these surprise bills from out of network providers they never chose.

A timeline of sorts of conflicts in Mass Effect History. Again, 1-3, bc I'm just not as up on Andromeda yet.

We're going to start from the Protheans onwards, because navigating all the pre-Prothean conflicts and races is a nightmare.
So our first conflict is The Metacon War
The Protheans advanced their spaceflight capabilities and developed Mass Effect technology by finding ruins left by the Insuannon- a race wiped out by the Reapers in a previous galactic cycle. Shortly after this, the Protheans meet a hostile synthetic intelligence.
